A statement from Lidexol®

Why is a movie called “Sick of Myself” completely misrepresenting our brand?

Addressing the controversy head on.

A Norwegian movie that had its premiere at the Cannes film festival this year is using Lidexol as a central element, without permission or consent from us. We have tried contacting them to reason with them, but so far we've had no luck, which is why we are addressing it here.

The movie has several facts about our brand wrong, something they seem to have done deliberately for story purposes, without thinking about the terrible consequences it can have for us.

This is so wrong on so many levels, especially since we are a mental wellness company, striving to improve the lives of people who struggle.

In the movie we are portrayed as a Russian company. It is true that this company was founded in Russia, but over the last few years we’ve grown to be a global brand. We don’t belong to any country or ethnicity and are proud to call ourselves an identity fluid company.

In the movie they claim that our anti-anxiety drug has severe side effects. While it is true that there have been cases of moderate to severe bodily reactions to the drug, it has always been as a result of abuse. When taken as the doctor prescribes, there has never been any problems. The character obviously takes way too much of our product, but even at her extreme level we sincerely doubt anyone would experience that level of side effects. If you do experience heat flashes, skin rashes or loss of sight when using Lidexol, immediately stop and contact your doctor.

We have sent the producers of the movie a cease and desist order, and we hope that the issue will be resolved before the film is available to a wider audience. We wanted to get ahead of the controversy and speak out now so that everyone knows that what you see in the film does not represent our company, nor did we have anything to do with the making of it, and neither do we hope anyone sees the film. It’s actually not a good film, according to several experts. We advise you to avoid it.

A better you awaits.
